【畑日記 / Farm Diary】草マルチのきゅうりさん｜Can They Make It Through Summer?（2026年5月21日）

5/21（木）｜畑日記

草マルチの中で育つ、

きゅうりさん。

強い日差しで土が乾きすぎないように、

草を敷いて暑さ対策をしています。

今年は5月とは思えない暑さの日もあり、

無事に夏を乗り越えられるかな？と、

少し心配しています。

それでも、

葉っぱを広げながら、

少しずつ成長しています。

自然の力を借りながら、

今年の夏も一緒に乗り越えていけたらと思います。

The cucumbers are growing with grass mulch protecting the soil around them.

The mulch helps keep moisture in the ground and protects the roots from the strong early summer heat.

This year has already been unusually hot for May, so I quietly wonder if they can make it through the long summer ahead.

Still, little by little, the plants continue spreading their leaves and growing toward the season ahead.
