【畑日記】2026年6月29日｜こもれびの家の畑

 6/29（月）｜畑日記

今日は、こもれびの家の畑へ行きました。

さつまいも畑には草がたくさん生えていたので、1畝だけ草取りをしました。

化学肥料や農薬を使っていない畑だからなのか、畑や畦の草も元気いっぱいです。

このままだと、さつまいもさんが草に負けてしまいそうだったので、少しだけお手伝いです。

スタッフさんが育ててくださっている夏野菜も、順調に育っていました。

抜いた草は乾燥させて畑にすき込み、堆肥として土に返したり、夏野菜の周りに敷いて乾燥を防ぐ草マルチとして活用するのも良さそうです。

今年の夏も暑くなりそうですが、畑も人も無理をせず、少しずつできることを続けていけたらと思います。

Farm Diary

Today, I visited the garden at Komorebi no Ie.

The sweet potato field had become quite weedy, so I cleared one row by hand.

Because the field is managed without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, the grasses are also growing vigorously.

The summer vegetables cared for by the staff are growing well.

The weeds can be dried and returned to the soil as compost, or used as mulch to help keep moisture in the ground during the hot summer.

With another long, hot summer ahead, I hope both the vegetables and the people working in the field can stay healthy without pushing themselves too hard.
